Thus have I heard:
One time, the Budha was staying at Anaathapindidas Ashrama in Jetavana of Shraavastii.
At that time, Budha said to the Bhikshus, “The thoughts, inclinations, and actions of beings with right views are all worthy of respect and are cherished and desired by the people of the world. Why is this? It is because their right views are excellent. It is like planting seeds of sweet fruits, such as sugarcane, grapes, and other sweet and delicious fruits, in well-prepared fertile soil. The fruits that grow will be sweet and delicious, cherished and desired by people.
Why is this? It is because the seeds themselves are sweet. In the same way, the thoughts, inclinations, and actions of beings with right views are all cherished and desired, and the people of the world rejoice in them. Why is this? It is because their right views are excellent. Therefore, Bhikshus, you should cultivate right views. In this way, Bhikshus, you should train yourselves.”
When the bhikshus heard what the Budha said, they followed it with joy.
