- 聞如是：
一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。
Thus I have heard:
One time, the Budha was staying at Anaathapindidas Ashrama in Jetavana of Shraavastii.
2. 爾時，世尊告諸比丘：
「我於此眾，初不見一法易降伏者，易得時宜，受諸善報。
所謂心是。
諸比丘！
當分別心，善念諸善本。
如是，諸比丘！當作是學。」
Then the Bhagavaan addressed the bhikkhus:
“Bhikkhus, I do not perceive even one other thing that is so easily tamed, so readily trained, and that brings such blessings as the mind.
O bhikshus! This mind is easily tamed, readily trained, and brings great blessings.
Therefore, bhikkhus, you should train yourselves thus: ‘We will discern the mind and cultivate wholesome roots.'”
3. 爾時，諸比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
When the bhikshus heard what the Budha said, they followed it with joy.
