1.聞如是：
一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。
Thus have I heard:
One time, the Budha was staying at Anaathapindidas Ashrama in Jetavana of Shraavastii.
2. 爾時，世尊告諸比丘：
有此二人獲福無量。云何為二？
所謂應稱譽者便歎譽之，不應稱者亦不稱歎之，是謂二人獲福無量。
復有二人受罪無量。何等為二？
所謂可稱歎反更誹謗，不應稱嘆者而更稱嘆。諸比丘！莫作是學。
At that time, Budha said to the bhikshus, “There are two kinds of people who attain immeasurable merit. Who are these two?
They are those who praise what is worthy of praise and do not praise what is not worthy of praise. These are the two who attain immeasurable merit.
There are also two kinds of people who incur immeasurable wrongdoing. Who are these two?
They are those who slander what is worthy of praise and praise what is not worthy of praise. Bhikshus, do not act in this way.”
3. 爾時，諸比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
When the bhikshus heard what the Budha said, they followed it with joy.
