1. 聞如是：一時，佛在舍衛國祇樹給孤獨園。
Thus have I heard:
One time, the Budha was staying at Anaathapindidas Ashrama in Jetavana of Shraavastii.
2. 爾時，世尊告諸比丘：「於此眾中，我不見一法修行已、多修行已，受人中福，受天上福，得泥洹證，所謂廣施也。」
At that time, Bhagavaan said to the Bhikshus, “In this assembly, I do not see a single practice that, when cultivated and frequently practiced, brings blessings in the human realm, blessings in the heavenly realm, and leads to the realization of Nirvana. What is this practice? It is practicing Dana (generosity) extensively.”
3. 佛告諸比丘：「若有人廣行布施，於現世中得色、得力，眾得具足，天上、人中食福無量。是故，諸比丘！當行布施，勿有慳心。如是，諸比丘！當作是學。」
Bhagavaan said to the Bhikshus, “If someone practices Dana (generosity) extensively, they will gain beauty, strength, and complete abundance in this very life. They will enjoy immeasurable blessings in the heavenly and human realms. Therefore, Bhikshus, you should practice Dana (generosity) and avoid being stingy. Thus, Bhikshus, you should train yourselves in this way.”
4. 爾時，諸比丘聞佛所說，歡喜奉行。
When the bhikshus heard what the Budha said, they followed it with joy.
