Thus have I heard:
One time, the Budha was staying at Anaathapindidas Ashrama in Jetavana of Shraavastii.
Then Bhagavaan addressed the Bhikshus: “When a certain person passes from the world, people mourn in sorrow, and both devas and humans lose their shelter.
Who is this person?
It is the Tathaagata, the Arhat, the Samyak-Sambudha. This is the one whose passing brings sorrow to all beings. Why?
Because when the Tathaagata disappears from the world, the Thirty-Seven Factors of Enlightenment also disappear. Therefore, Bhikshus, you should always revere Budha. Thus should you train yourselves, O Bhikshus.”
When the bhikshus heard what the Budha said, they followed it with joy.
